09/29/2025 Click Above to Watch the Morning Market Talk Video Markets Brace for USDA Reports, Potential Gov’t Shutdown On the Grains Corn and soybeans traded lower overnight, while wheat has firmed this early this morning. Traders are preparing for Tuesday’s reports from USDA.Global equities moved higher Monday, gold rose to a new high and the U.S. dollar slumped, as investors braced for the possibility of a U.S. government shutdown that could delay the release of critical data. President Trump is scheduled to meet today at 3:00 p.m. ET with top Republican and Democratic leaders in Congress to negotiate an extension of government funding. USDA’s Sept. 30 Grain Stocks and Small Grains Summary will be key data for the grain markets. USDA’s final 2025 wheat production figures in the Small Grains Summary aren’t expected to provide many fireworks, with analysts anticipating just a fine tuning of production estimates for the wheat classes. Sept. 1 grain stocks have more potential to be market moving. This will set final 2024-25, ending stocks for corn and soybeans, along with giving traders a read on first quarter 2025-26 wheat usage.
